Michael J. (Jerry) Portele has tried well over 125 administrative trials before various tribunals in the State of Texas and is a very active trial lawyer in the courts of Texas. His previous experience includes insurance defense, with a focus on defending insurance companies and employers in workers’ compensation cases. He has represented many Fortune 500 Companies including insurance companies, staff leasing companies and employers throughout his practice. Additionally, he has also practiced before Texas’ Appellate Courts.
Mr. Portele attended South Texas College of Law and, while there, he was an active participant in both moot court and mock trial competitions, winning awards in both areas. Mr. Portele was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November, 2001.
For over five years prior to law school and while obtaining his undergraduate degree, Jerry worked for two local orthopedic surgeons where his work included assistance in physical rehabilitation as well as general assistance in the surgery room. Thus, he brings a unique perspective to the practice of law and does not shy away from the complexities of commercial litigation.
